StepStone’s Private Equity (PE) team is dedicated to identifying and investing in opportunities across the private equity spectrum. This team collaborates with other sponsors to invest directly in companies, manages secondary transactions, and evaluates primary investments for both advisory and discretionary clients. Our approach includes analyzing leveraged buyout deals and funds across a diverse range of industries and capital structures.
About the Internship
We are seeking talented penultimate and final year undergraduate students, as well as master’s degree candidates, who possess strong quantitative, qualitative, and interpersonal skills. The internship position within StepStone’s Private Equity Team offers a distinctive learning experience, exposing interns to a variety of industries and capital structures through in-depth analysis of private equity funds and investments.
Your Responsibilities
As an intern, you will work collaboratively with the team to identify and perform due diligence on investment opportunities, which includes creating financial models and preparing investment memorandums across the Private Equity team's three verticals: private equity fund investments, co-investments, and secondary transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis and due diligence on co-investment opportunities and secondary transactions.
- Engage with fund managers and portfolio company management teams to perform thorough portfolio and asset-level underwriting and analysis.
- Carry out quantitative and qualitative research along with financial modeling on companies and assets spanning various industries and geographies.
- Perform due diligence on potential fund investments, examining team dynamics, strategy, and performance, and compile findings into investment memorandums for presentation to the firm's investment committee.
