Utilizing StepStone's proprietary cloud-based performance reporting systems, the DARO team collaborates globally to deliver valuable insights for informed decision-making among internal and external stakeholders.
About the Role
This internship is tailored for college students eager to immerse themselves in the private markets industry, hone their investment analysis skills, and explore potential full-time career paths with StepStone. As a Junior Analyst, you will work alongside our performance analysis team, gaining insights into financial markets while assisting in investment monitoring and reporting. You will contribute to the Global DARO team, engaging with offices across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, supporting our 24-hour global operations model. This opportunity offers a full-time (40 hours per week) commitment for a 16-week period, with the potential for extension or transition into a permanent role with StepStone.
Your Responsibilities
Your main role will involve reviewing and analyzing Quarterly Reports, Financial Statements, and Schedules of Investments, accurately extracting and entering data into our proprietary database. You will assess fund performance quarterly by tracking underlying portfolio investments, process cash flow notices, and monitor cash movements between funds and our clients. Additionally, you will support the team with various quarterly, annual, or ad hoc projects and client requests.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and cross-sectional portfolio analysis focusing on market trends by strategy, sector, and geography.
- Monitor and report on investment activities and performance of leading private equity firms.
- Review and reconcile quarterly reports, cash flow statements, and related investment documentation.
