The 2026 Structural Engineering Internship is based in Chicago, Illinois. This program gives engineering students a chance to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects. Interns work closely with experienced engineers, both at the office and on job sites, to build practical skills and gain industry perspective.
What you will do
- Assist with construction monitoring, field investigations, condition assessments, construction observations, drafting, structural design and analysis, and site inspections
- Analyze materials, support the petrography team, help develop test protocols, design and build testing equipment, conduct tests, and interpret results
