About the job

Team Overview:
Kitware is at the forefront of developing innovative algorithms and software solutions for automated image and video analysis. Our computer vision team leverages deep learning to deliver impactful solutions for government bodies, commercial enterprises, and academic institutions globally. We are acutely aware of the challenges in extracting and interpreting information from diverse data sources such as images, videos, metadata, and text. Our mission is to enhance the fields of computer vision and deep learning through rigorous research, development, and collaborative projects rooted in our open-source software platforms, including VIAME and Telesculptor.

Project Highlights:
Our dedicated 3D computer vision team is responsible for creating algorithms and open-source applications focused on photogrammetry, which involves reconstructing 3D models from images and videos. Our current projects primarily utilize aerial and satellite imagery, but our adaptable capabilities extend to various other domains. Notable projects include the development of TeleSculptor, a cutting-edge open-source application for aerial 3D reconstruction based on KWIVER, and Danesfield, a Python framework for urban 3D modeling from satellite imagery. We are committed to advancing these tools and continuously innovating in 3D reconstruction, camera calibration algorithms, and broader computer vision applications. We are actively exploring how 3D vision can enhance object detection, tracking, change detection, and video compression, among other challenges. Our team is also eager to adapt our solutions to meet the unique challenges presented by new clients, including domains such as underwater imagery and synthetic aperture radar.

At Kitware, our employees enjoy unique opportunities to engage directly with clients, visit fascinating project sites, and participate in hands-on field tests and demonstrations.
