Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficient in reading measurement tools. Ability to perform basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure. Capable of following detailed written or oral instructions with common sense understanding. Physical Demands:Must be able to lift, bend, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to or exceeding 50 lbs. Ability to stand or walk for the duration of an 8-10 hour shift. Work Environment:Employees must be prepared to work in varying Iowa climates and endure heat and cold conditions within the facility. Expect fast-paced workloads and exposure to high noise levels, paint fumes, and chemicals. Personal Protective Equipment as required by OSHA will be provided by the Company.

Join our team at Bertch Cabinets as a dedicated 3rd Shift Machine Operator, working Monday to Thursday nights from 8 PM to 6:30 AM with overtime opportunities as needed.

As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in operating machinery within our manufacturing department. You will work with various machines, including:

  • Table Saw
  • Chop Saw
  • Drill Press
  • Kreg Drill
  • Glue Clamp
  • Planer/Sander
  • Straight Line Rip Saw
  • Dovetail Machinery
  • Machine and Hand Sanders

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to all safety protocols to foster a safe working environment.
  2. Setup and operate various machines and hand tools to fabricate and repair wooden cabinets, high-quality furniture, countertops, and mirrors.
  3. Inspect parts for count, quality, and identification prior to shipment to the next process.
  4. Conduct daily maintenance checks and promptly report any issues to the Manager or lead person.
  5. Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
  6. Collaborate effectively within a team to ensure quality control.
  7. Contribute to the achievement of Bertch's manufacturing schedule.
  8. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
