Rentokil Initial seeks an experienced Accountant or Senior Accountant to strengthen its finance team in Hong Kong. This position centers on precise financial reporting, compliance with local accounting standards, and contributing to the company’s financial stability. Familiarity with Hong Kong financial practices and strong skills in general ledger management are required.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and group reports in accordance with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS) and company guidelines.
- Analyze financial data to spot trends, variances, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the shared service team on monthly closings and other financial matters.
- Support monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, stocktaking, reviews of long-aged stock, fixed asset monitoring, and preparation of audit and tax filing schedules and documentation.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, review their work, and provide guidance to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with pricing calculations and participate in ad hoc projects, including system automation initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience with Hong Kong financial practices and standards.
- Strong background in general ledger management.
- Ability to prepare financial statements and reports in line with HKFRS.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff is an advantage.
