Overview / Job Summary:
Are you seeking a revitalizing opportunity in the healthcare field? Join us as we guide our students in obtaining their certificates in the Practical Nursing (PN) program, paving their way toward nursing degrees and careers. This position offers a dynamic blend of clinical and classroom environments, allowing you to share your expertise and insights from the healthcare sector to enhance our students' success and employability, potentially leading them to work alongside you in life-saving roles!
Your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing and directing students in all assigned classroom and laboratory activities to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
- Keeping students informed regarding course content, requirements, assessment procedures, and attendance expectations.
- Ensuring that each program/class includes essential curricular components, maintains appropriate content and teaching methods, and stays current. You will maintain a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and inspire enthusiasm among students.
- Assessing students to track their progress toward achieving course outcomes and competencies.
- Developing, revising, and recommending curriculum changes that align with course/program objectives and enhance student learning.
Requirements
Education:
- Associates Degree in Nursing, required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred (must be willing to commence BSN within one year).
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience as a registered nurse, preferred.
- A minimum of five years in nursing, nurse education, nurse practitioner roles, or related experience, required.
- Must possess a current, unrestricted Kansas RN license.
- Obtain, at personal expense, annual TB tests and other required immunizations or physical exams for clinical placements. Additionally, a CPR certification is required prior to clinical assignments.
- Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred.
