Pearce Services seeks an Advanced Battery Energy Storage System Technician to join its Renewables Operations and Maintenance division. This position is based within 50 miles of Houston, Texas and involves supporting commercial and industrial solar energy sites across the United States. Pearce Services, a subsidiary of CBRE Group, Inc., has provided technical maintenance, repair, and engineering services for critical electromechanical infrastructure since 1998.

Role overview

This technician role centers on operations and maintenance for solar energy sites. Responsibilities include both technical troubleshooting and hands-on tasks at various locations. The work environment emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
  • Carry out Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as authorized personnel, following established safety protocols.
  • Lead daily safety and task planning meetings, including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
  • Maintain professional communication with vendors and clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage site operations efficiently and safely.

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years of experience with electrical systems and components.
  • 2-4+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector preferred.
