Our Center for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) serves as the engineering and architecture hub for AI at HDS. This practitioner-led center is dedicated to realizing Hitachi’s global AI ambitions through repeatable and governed delivery. Our team is responsible for developing reference architectures, reusable components, and evaluation methodologies that can be deployed across various client environments, including cloud and hybrid solutions.
Your Role
As an AI Engineer, you will design, build, and operate AI capabilities that can be seamlessly integrated into real-world applications. This includes workflows powered by large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agent-based systems, all maintained to production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end AI solutions, encompassing data preparation, model integration, evaluation, deployment, and operational monitoring.
- Translate business and delivery requirements into practical AI designs, collaborating closely with architects, platform engineers, and client stakeholders.
- Create reusable assets, such as reference implementations, patterns, templates, and internal libraries.
- Adhere to production best practices, including rigorous testing, version control, CI/CD processes, and performance optimization.
- Deliver high-quality AI components independently, mentor junior team members, and enhance CAAI’s reusable assets.
- Manage small to mid-sized AI workstreams from conception through to release and operational transition.
- Engineer RAG and agent-based features with comprehensive evaluation and failure mitigation strategies.
