Role Overview: Airfield Construction Coordinator
This seasonal position supports construction activities at MSP, especially during the peak season from April through November. The Construction Coordinator works closely with air traffic control, contractors, and airport tenants to keep operations running smoothly and safely.
Main Responsibilities
- Monitor vehicular movement on the airfield
- Provide vehicle escorts as needed
- Coordinate daily construction operations with various stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with construction safety plans
- Assist with inspections of runways, taxiways, lighting, and other critical areas
- Support airport security and emergency services during severe weather or emergencies
Schedule and Workload
- Seasonal role, primarily April through November
- 40-50 hours per week during peak construction season
- Day and evening shifts required
- Some weekends and holidays as needed
- Safety training and pre-construction planning occur in the off-peak season as needed
