About the job
Join our dynamic team at amo as a pivotal member of our Android engineering group. As one of the early hires in a product-centric company, you will play a crucial role in shaping our design and product decisions from the ground up.
Initially, you will collaborate closely with our founding team, gradually taking ownership of key components and features. We are looking for adaptable engineers who are eager to contribute to various foundational aspects of the company as we grow.
We are committed to developing a team of subject matter experts, and we value team members who dive deep into their fields of expertise.
As an Android Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Feature Development
You will be at the forefront of delivering innovative and high-quality UI features in a fast-paced setting. We encourage you to push the limits of what's possible, leveraging your expertise in low-level APIs, shader creation for dynamic effects, and custom rendering systems.
Platform Development
You will actively contribute to the creation and enhancement of our platform. This involves developing careful abstractions utilized by other Android team members, such as media encoding, decoding and playback; performance tracing libraries; and our own components for navigation and deep links across applications. Your work will extend beyond individual features to encompass cross-company components.
Roadmap Creation and Ideation
You will play a vital role in the roadmap creation and ideation process, where your experience will be crucial in identifying trade-offs and offering valuable insights from both product and engineering standpoints.
Knowledge Sharing
We emphasize continuous learning and knowledge exchange. Your involvement in staying current with the latest trends and best practices, attending conferences, engaging in online communities, and sharing your insights internally will significantly contribute to our collective growth.
Owning Your Scope
You will be responsible for monitoring analytics and managing system crashes. We value engineers who take ownership of their responsibilities, proactively addressing issues and triaging bug fixes.
