Position: Android - AOSP Engineer - IPP Hardware
As Adyen’s fleet of in-person payment devices continues to expand rapidly, we are introducing thousands of new models every month, presenting exciting challenges ahead.
We seek a skilled Android Engineer with AOSP experience to take charge of optimizing the Android OS for our devices.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of Android AOSP to establish a robust and adaptable foundation for our payment applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and software and hardware engineering, to enhance the payment experience for our merchants.
- Engage with SOC (system on chip) and terminal vendors to procure high-performance components.
- Guarantee software quality by leveraging cutting-edge technologies and frameworks in Android OS engineering.
- Mentor team members to cultivate the necessary skills within the team.
Your Profile:
- Over 5 years of experience with the Android OS.
- Deep understanding of the Android OS, from secure boot and the Linux Kernel to Java Framework integration.
- Proficient in C/C++. Familiarity with Java and/or Kotlin is advantageous. Experienced in using version control systems like Git, Repo, Gerrit, GitHub, as well as Android command line tools such as adb and fastboot.
- Proven experience navigating complex multi-party development lifecycles, including knowledge of Google’s communication channels (Mailing lists, Android Security Bulletins) and compliance tools (VTS/CTS/STS).
- Experience in customizing AOSP for domain-specific features.
- Expertise in implementing and integrating HAL (HIDL/AIDL) interfaces.
