Role overview

The Applied AI for Critical and Sovereign Institutions team focuses on building secure, high-impact AI systems for organizations in regulated and strategic sectors. This group partners directly with clients to design, deploy, and maintain solutions that meet demanding standards for security, reliability, and compliance.

Mistral AI is hiring an Applied AI Engineer in Paris to join this specialized team. The position centers on leading the technical design, implementation, and deployment of AI solutions tailored for critical infrastructure and sovereign institutions. Projects in this area support essential societal and operational functions.

What you will do

  • Independently deploy AI solutions to production for use cases with substantial operational and strategic impact.
  • Develop advanced GenAI applications for sovereign institutions and critical infrastructure, collaborating closely with clients to address their specific needs.
  • Work with researchers, AI engineers, and product teams on complex customer projects, including advanced fine-tuning, large language model (LLM) applications, and contributions to open-source codebases.
  • Take part in pre-sales discussions to understand client requirements and challenges, offering technical input on Mistral’s products and technologies.
