Area Manager - Production (Back Half Nights), Newark, NJ
HelloFresh is seeking an Area Manager for Production at its Newark, NJ facility. This position works the Back Half Nights schedule: Thursday through Sunday.
Role overview
The Area Manager oversees production teams during night shifts, focusing on effective communication, operational results, and team development. This role requires balancing quality, safety, productivity, cost, and morale while responding to changing priorities on the floor.
Main responsibilities
- Promote respectful communication among team members and leads.
- Coach, guide, and develop hourly associates.
- Ensure employees have the right tools, training, and feedback.
- Share daily production metrics with management.
- Address employee concerns and resolve issues as they arise.
- Respond promptly to emails.
- Identify and suggest improvements to operational processes.
- Monitor departmental performance and report to the Associate Production Manager during shifts.
- Complete required paperwork at the end of each shift.
- Lead daily shift and safety meetings.
- Assist with interviews for non-exempt roles in the department.
- Conduct accident investigations and inform management as needed.
- Manage departmental priorities as situations change.
- Track employee attendance and monitor daily timekeeping.

Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or a high school diploma/GED with relevant work experience.
- Preferred: 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a production setting.
