Qualifications

ResponsibilitiesTake charge of the mechanical assembly process, collaborating with the engineering team to assemble, maintain, and operate both mechanical and electrical systems. Engage in collaborative design discussions as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on manufacturing and assembly practices. Maintain a strong focus on quality, continuously seeking improvements to enhance efficiency and simplify processes. Execute a variety of mechanical and wiring tasks, including repetitive and custom fabrication, final assembly of end products, and field maintenance. Utilize in-house manufacturing capabilities to create custom parts. Design and implement manufacturing jigs to increase the speed and yield of the assembly process. Follow 3D CAD and assembly drawings to carry out tasks such as:Installing fasteners, rivets, and fittingsConstructing enclosures and bracketsApplying gaskets, adhesives, and protective coatingsDocument your processes meticulously, maintaining accurate as-built documentation for every piece of hardware you assemble.

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Assembly Technician to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge American defense technology. As a key member of Picogrid's hardware engineering team, you will play a significant role in shaping our engineering culture and product direction.

In this position, you will focus on the enclosures and structural systems that form the backbone of Picogrid's current and future hardware platforms, facilitating the deployment of unmanned and autonomous systems in various operations around the globe.

You will take full ownership of the mechanical assembly process, from interpreting design documentation and work instructions to troubleshooting in the field. Collaborating with our world-class engineering team, which includes professionals from leading tech companies such as SpaceX, Google, and Twitter, you will be instrumental in driving our mission forward.
