Position Overview
In the role of Assistant Engineer on Olsson’s Rail Track Team, you will engage in a diverse range of responsibilities, including track and civil design, project execution, quality control assessments, scheduling, and estimating. You may also travel for project-related tasks. Additionally, you will assist in marketing and business development initiatives, collaborate with technical staff, and strive to improve efficiency in delivering high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design components of engineering projects using established methods and techniques.
- Carry out entry-level plan production while following clearly defined instructions.
- Acquire knowledge and hands-on experience with design and modeling software.
- Work under the guidance of senior staff to support project schedules and perform technical engineering calculations.
- Contribute to specific parts of broader projects under direct supervision.
- Conduct research and prepare information to aid in the creation of technical reports.
- Possibly mentor student interns by answering questions and providing support with routine tasks.
- Be prepared for travel and work in various terrains and weather conditions at project sites during different construction phases.
