Are you ready to challenge the boundaries of what’s possible?We are looking for candidates who possess:Professional accreditation as a CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., IET). A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, specifically electrical or power engineering. Proven experience delivering projects for transmission system operators such as National Grid, SSE, or SPT in accordance with their specific standards. Hands-on experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV. Strong client relationship management and business development skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

As a senior member of our Transmission & Distribution team, you will lead and engage with clients, ensuring the successful delivery of technically complex overhead line design projects.

Your primary focus as the Principal Overhead Line Engineer will be to provide project technical support and guidance to the overhead lines teams involved in transmission projects, working on various initiatives encompassing overhead transmission lines up to 400kV.

  • Lead and provide technical support to deliver overhead line design on intricate multi-discipline projects.
  • Offer technical expertise in bids and proposals, acting as the Principal Engineer in client meetings, leveraging your extensive experience on exciting projects.
  • Assume full responsibility for project scope and the technical delivery of overhead line works.
  • Provide expert evaluations and problem-solving solutions to team members.
  • Assist in drafting proposals that outline project details, timelines, resources, budgets, objectives, and goals.
  • Deliver technical support throughout project implementation, statutory planning, and public consultation events.
  • Oversee design activities related to overhead lines, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structural analysis, design criteria formulation, sag-tension calculations, insulator/conductor selection, and more.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
