Position Overview

The Associate Flight Assurance Engineer will play a crucial role in the development, evaluation, and enhancement of mission assurance processes. This position is vital to ensuring product reliability, compliance, and quality throughout the entire lifecycle of space systems and components. The role encompasses supporting design, manufacturing, and testing activities to guarantee the safety, functionality, and performance of flight hardware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new product concepts and designs for reliability, safety, and compliance with mission assurance standards; provide actionable insights to Engineering and Program teams.
  • Develop and implement mission assurance methodologies to fulfill quality, safety, and regulatory requirements while adhering to program schedules and budget constraints.
  • Conduct risk assessments, failure mode analyses, and proof-of-concept studies to validate design integrity and operational readiness.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including assurance plans, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance reports.
  • Continuously enhance mission assurance practices utilizing industry standards and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, FRACAS, Six Sigma) to improve reliability and mitigate risks.
  • Assist in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for anomalies identified during design, manufacturing, or testing phases.
  • Engage in or lead initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, quality improvement, and process optimization.
  • Ensure thorough qualification and verification of new or modified products through rigorous assurance processes to completion.
