What You Will BringA minimum of 2 years of experience in a professional services environment. Developing knowledge of networking and firewall technologies, including Data Centers, Local Area Networks (LANs), and Wide Area Networks (WANs). Understanding of networking concepts and associated security measures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional customer service focus with excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Completion or pursuit of tertiary education in Computer Science. Desirable: 2+ years of networking experience and proficiency in coding with Perl.

About Your Role
Join our expanding Networks Managed Services team, dedicated to providing exceptional network solutions to our federal customers. As an Associate Network Engineer, you will collaborate closely with your team to ensure the delivery of timely network solutions, implementation, and updates while prioritizing customer service and teamwork. In this role, you will support multiple client accounts in a secure, agile environment, ensuring compliance with ISM and ISO standards.

This full-time, permanent position is located in Auckland. Occasional weekend work may be required, for which you will receive 1.5x pay and a fixed daily on-call allowance. Candidates must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

 

Your Responsibilities
As an Associate Network Engineer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing 24/7 technical support to clients in the Network Management Centre, working a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
  • Monitoring network availability and performance, focusing on outage detection, analysis, resolution, and reporting.
  • Assisting with customer projects, including circuit changes, site relocations, and implementing IOS upgrades using automated tools.
  • Conducting testing, implementation, monitoring, and tuning of networking software/hardware to ensure optimal system performance and proactively address potential issues.
