What We Seek:A minimum of 9 years of proven experience delivering comprehensive Project Management services, including post-contract management and administration, with proactive stakeholder engagement and adherence to service scope. Proven knowledge and experience in NEC3/4 contract management, preferably with relevant accreditation. A relevant degree in project management, engineering, environmental science, construction, or a related field. Alternatively, exceptional candidates with significant industry experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience in team leadership and resource management, including resource planning and mentoring less experienced team members. Experience in the built environment as a client-side Project Manager, with a focus on Energy, Aviation, Water, Rail, and/or NEC Project Management.

As our Manchester division continues to grow, we seek a driven Office Lead to spearhead our local team and contribute to the next stage of regional expansion.

This role extends beyond mere team management; it offers a platform to develop, shape, and lead a thriving Project Management capability within one of AECOM’s most commercially successful regions. You'll be collaborating with major clients, including the Environment Agency, while advancing our growth objectives for FY26.

Your Responsibilities:

In this role, you will serve as the central figure for our Infrastructure Project Management capabilities in Manchester, ensuring team engagement, development, and commercial effectiveness. Primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Overseeing local office operations and maintaining a visible leadership presence for the Manchester PM team
  • Driving strategic recruitment to align with regional growth plans
  • Managing team structure, line management dynamics, and fostering regular communication with all team members
  • Establishing meaningful personal and business objectives that align with regional performance metrics
  • Supporting career development and progression pathways for team members
  • Monitoring and optimizing utilization to ensure robust commercial performance
  • Keeping team CVs and capability profiles current, engaging, and ready for clients
  • Cultivating a positive team culture through regular engagement and local initiatives
