As the Associate Research Manager for Financial Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality enhanced due diligence reports tailored for our esteemed financial services clients across the Asia Pacific region. You will lead a dedicated team of VANTAGE researchers, guiding them to produce insightful, analytical, and exceptionally well-written reports that assist our clients in meeting stringent compliance and regulatory standards.
Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including conducting scoping research, drafting proposal documents, engaging with financial services clients to grasp their needs, managing comprehensive due diligence reports for significant banking transactions such as IPOs and debt issuances, executing desktop research and discreet interviews, and reviewing and finalizing reports drafted by junior team members. Additionally, you will foster the professional growth and development of your team, providing mentorship and training to enhance their performance. You will also assist your line manager in coordinating internal and external resources to ensure the timely and effective completion of due diligence projects for financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the project management of enhanced due diligence assignments for financial services clients, ensuring that reports are accurately scoped, allocated, tracked, and delivered punctually and within budget.
- Assist in the proposal process, conducting scoping research and maintaining clear communication with clients to understand their requirements.
- Manage projects of varying complexity, finalize reports, and organize the research team to address follow-up inquiries from financial institution clients.
- Engage directly with clients, primarily from the compliance or internal control departments of financial institutions, to clarify project scopes, respond to inquiries, and suggest additional research avenues.
- Review and approve enhanced due diligence reports, ensuring adherence to high quality and client specifications.
- Conduct in-depth research on specific topics and issues, drafting summaries and findings, either collaboratively or independently, as required.
- Provide constructive feedback to vendors and subcontractors, ensuring their output meets our global delivery standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Control Risks to resolve client inquiries.
People Management:
- Lead a team of researchers or senior researchers.
- Establish clear objectives and responsibilities for each team member, aligned with practice goals.
