Join SciTec, a proud subsidiary of Firefly Aerospace, a pioneering non-traditional defense contractor dedicated to advancing technologies that strengthen U. S. National Security and Defense. With over 45 years of experience, we have consistently supported Department of Defense clients by creating cutting-edge remote sensing algorithms, tools, and methodologies to provide exceptional data exploitation capabilities for missile defense, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, space domain awareness, and aircraft survivability.

Important Notice: All SciTec employees must be U. S. citizens due to the nature of our government contracts. We do not provide visa sponsorship of any kind. U. S. citizenship is essential for obtaining and maintaining security clearances, and applicants who do not fulfill these criteria will not be considered.

We are currently seeking a motivated systems analyst/engineer to enhance our programs focused on Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our core mission of national defense. As part of a dynamic team, you will facilitate end-to-end software processing for Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data related to Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. Your role will involve analyzing complex software through various stages of development, from prototype to operational systems. You'll employ Python, MATLAB, and other programming languages to create analysis tools that support our investigations. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to analyze and interpret data processing algorithm outcomes, identify trends, detect deficiencies, and propose enhancements that can shape algorithm development and system deployment. This position is tailored for early-career professionals. We prefer candidates with industry experience or research-level academic experience in remote sensing data analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Convert raw and graphical algorithm performance data into actionable insights for software development teams.
  • Present analytical findings to team leadership.
  • Draft formal analysis reports and engage in peer review processes.
  • Conduct testing of prototype, development, and sustainment software builds to facilitate performance analysis for mission-critical capabilities.
  • Develop analysis tools in Python, ranging from data readers to interactive multivariate visualizations.
  • Design innovative metrics to enhance algorithm and system performance assessments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
