Key Responsibilities:Implementing systems engineering processes in accordance with IEEE 15288 standards. Conducting requirements derivation, decomposition, and allocation. Facilitating communication among program managers, software developers, and systems engineering team members, necessitating strong verbal and written communication skills. Designing and modeling systems architectures for remote sensor data processing systems. Performing other assigned duties as necessary. Requirements:A Bachelor’s degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science. At least 1 year of relevant coursework or professional experience in Systems Engineering. Meticulous attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with remote sensing systems or software architecture, particularly with OPIR sensor processing. Prior involvement in systems engineering projects within the defense and aerospace sectors. More than five years of additional professional experience in systems engineering. Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering and tools like SysML or the Cameo/MagicDraw suite. Ability to read and understand computer code (Python, C++, etc.). Experience with Agile software development practices. Demonstrated background in program management and project leadership, including familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems.

Role Overview

The Associate Systems Engineer will join the Boulder, Colorado team to support Next-Generation Missile Warning software projects. This position offers the chance to work in a small, focused group delivering critical capabilities for national defense.

  • Collaborate with team members to execute end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data
  • Support missions in Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence
  • Contribute to software initiatives that address essential national security needs
