Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:Pursuing a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field, focusing on high-performance simulation, reinforcement learning, robotic systems, or applications in autonomous driving. Practical experience in deep learning and/or AI systems, specifically in at least two of the following areas: reinforcement learning, vector/point-based learning representations, navigation planning, multi-agent training/self-play, and autonomous driving. Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python, along with hands-on experience using libraries like PyTorch, CUDA, TensorFlow, etc. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Preferred Qualifications:Published work in leading robotics, machine learning, or computer vision conferences/journals, such as ICRA, IROS, RSS, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, and ECCV. Project experience in planning or simulation relevant to autonomous driving.

Internship Opportunities: Collaborate with a team of skilled researchers and engineers in one of the following domains:

  1. GPU-Accelerated Simulation for Reinforcement Learning:
    Design and improve high-performance, scalable simulation environments specifically for reinforcement learning applications in autonomous driving.
  2. ML-Based Planning Models Integration:
    Create, train, and embed planning models for autonomous driving, utilizing GPU-accelerated simulations to enhance performance in complex driving scenarios.
  3. Hybrid Learning Approaches:
    Innovate and enhance learning methodologies that integrate imitation and reinforcement learning, emphasizing multi-agent self-play techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in transformative engineering projects that apply deep learning and reinforcement learning to resolve challenges in autonomous driving planning and simulation.
  • Collaborate with an international team of experts to implement advanced research results into Bosch's business units, testing and validating concepts in simulated environments and with self-driving vehicles.
  • Work alongside domain specialists to explore novel learning-based planning and decision-making strategies.
  • Conduct benchmarking and validation of models using extensive datasets and simulations.
  • Share research outcomes through comprehensive internal reports and potential external publications.
