A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in robotics, PLC programming (e.g., Beckhoff, Pilz), fieldbus communication, or motion controllers in manufacturing environments. Proven experience in robot programming (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA, UR, ABB). Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.

Role Overview

As an Automation and Controls Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge robotic automation systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to identify system requirements, propose automation layouts, and select and source the necessary hardware. Your responsibilities will include programming automation workcells and guiding robotics solutions from initial concepts through to successful implementation. Continuous collaboration with software developers, product managers, and researchers will be essential to invent, maintain, and enhance our robotic platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative robotic automation workcells, managing projects from hardware selection and electrical design to robot, PLC, and HMI programming.
  • Collaborate with product managers, software developers, and researchers to develop, enhance, and innovate our robotic platform.
  • Source and integrate top-tier technology products into automation workcells.
  • Evaluate strategic decisions on whether to build capabilities in-house or partner with external system integrators.
  • Conceptualize new robotic automation applications and assess the effort, feasibility, and cost to develop solutions.
  • Establish standards for hardware selection and PLC software through expertise in industrial control systems.
  • Document and communicate your work effectively for both internal and external stakeholders.
