Requirements: Technical Degree or Associate Degree in Instrumentation, Electronic Communications, Industrial Electronics, or an equivalent field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in program development and troubleshooting across Allen Bradley PLC software platforms. Familiarity with AB CompactLogix, AB ControlLogix, and Fisher ROC RTU is essential. Experience communicating through cellular, satellite, Modbus, and SCADA systems. Possession of a valid driver’s license and fulfillment of company insurability requirements are mandatory. Ability to troubleshoot and repair AC and DC electrical circuits is required. Compliance with WWM’s drug and alcohol policy is a must. Expert-level understanding of automation technology and systems is preferred.

Job Summary

This role will offer essential operational support, troubleshooting, process optimization, programming, and Human Machine Interface (HMI) assistance for natural gas pipelines, NGL pipelines, and related compressor stations, based in our Houston, TX office.

Position Functions:

  • Maintain, install, and troubleshoot process control software and pipeline equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote terminal units (RTUs), and HMI equipment.
  • Enhance the long-term reliability of PLC equipment and contribute to the implementation of PLC automation technology strategies.
  • Design and engage in the construction of control systems across the pipeline network.
  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all pipeline automation systems.
  • Oversee and inspect third-party contract labor involved in automation systems construction or improvement.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors and service providers in the automation technology sector.
  • Review project bids, specifications, and approval documentation, managing the process from design to implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness standards that align with business needs.
  • Stay updated on automation control best practices and industry regulations relevant to WhiteWater Midstream, identifying changes in codes and proposing innovative automation developments.
  • Analyze and correct system hazards, diagnose malfunctioning systems, and implement safe and cost-effective solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
