Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in business process automation, process mining, or workflow optimization roles. Hands-on experience with process mining & design tools: Celonis, Microsoft Visio. Proficient in automation platforms: ServiceNow, Microsoft Power Automate, SmartSheet. Solid understanding of finance processes. Proven track record utilizing Python, UiPath, Power BI, and other automation tools. Knowledgeable in AI-driven automation concepts and platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to business challenges. Demonstrated experience documenting, designing, and delivering process automation solutions in a finance or shared services environment. Effective communication skills to train and support users on new automation tools and workflows.

Finance Shared Services (FSS) was established as a crucial component of AbbVie's new operational model, dedicated to delivering precise financial accounting and reporting for all affiliates and business units. The FSS center for the EMEA region, situated in Krakow, Poland, serves as the primary accounting and controllership function for all affiliates and manufacturing facilities in the region, offering support in US GAAP accounting, tax compliance, and selected FP&A and order-to-cash processes. This center was founded in 2013.

Role Purpose:

The Automation Specialist will concentrate on optimizing manual procedures, spearheading business process reengineering, and deploying state-of-the-art automation solutions throughout the organization. This role involves utilizing process mining tools, advanced automation technologies, and AI-driven methodologies to enhance workflows, improve compliance, and facilitate efficient business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and document current finance processes to uncover automation opportunities using process design tools.
  • Design, implement, and sustain automated workflows utilizing platforms like ServiceNow, Microsoft Power Automate, and SmartSheet.
  • Map and refine end-to-end business processes with visual tools such as Microsoft Visio, ensuring clear stakeholder documentation and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect requirements and deliver customized automation solutions that boost efficiency and mitigate error risks.
  • Develop and deploy AI-driven automations, including chatbots, to support intelligent process enhancements and data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor, test, and enhance automated processes to align with business objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Provide training to team members and end-users on newly implemented automation tools and updated workflows.
  • Stay informed on emerging automation trends, best practices, and relevant technologies to continuously enhance FSS operations.
