The Aviation Engineering Technical Practice Leader for the Americas will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of aviation engineering practices across the region. Reporting directly to the Americas Aviation Lead, this leader will enhance delivery quality, bolster technical expertise, and leverage resources across various business lines. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual eager to lead a successful engineering practice while maintaining strong industry connections within commercial airport facilities. The role presents an exceptional opportunity for collaboration and development with clients, federal, state, and municipal officials, industry associations, and technical leaders in a dynamic and supportive work culture.

Collaboration with the Global Aviation team and the transportation leadership in the US East and US West Regions is key to success in this role.

Given the nature of this position, it offers flexibility with options for remote work, including travel as necessary.

Core Responsibilities

Practice Growth and Sales

The leader will be responsible for driving practice growth, strategy, and sales of AECOM’s services within the Aviation sector, particularly by collaborating with Regional Aviation Market Sector Leads, the Global Aviation team, and Regional Aviation Division Managers.

Working with business line leaders, the role ensures strategic growth in the regions while supporting aviation capture managers to win and successfully deliver major engineering projects.

Developing strong relationships with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders in the Aviation industry will be essential, acting as an ambassador for AECOM.

Utilizing technical knowledge, the leader will contribute to the creation of capture plans that align with business development strategies and technical capabilities.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading national collaborations with Aviation Planning, B+P, Construction Management, and other business lines for aviation civil engineering services.
  • Creating and implementing national strategies for aviation civil engineering projects that align with organizational objectives, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Building and structuring technical delivery teams with the necessary skills for effective project execution.
  • Identifying and hiring key industry talent based on market strategy.
  • Expanding existing strategies to drive organizational growth across the Americas aviation market.
  • Advising leadership on resource capabilities that enhance market growth and geographic reach.
  • Identifying resource gaps that hinder growth and addressing them effectively.
