The Aviation Engineering Technical Practice Leader for the Americas will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aviation engineering within AECOM. Reporting directly to the Americas Aviation Lead, this leader is responsible for driving growth in the aviation engineering practice, ensuring high-quality service delivery, enhancing technical capabilities, and leveraging resources across various business lines. This position is ideal for a proactive individual with extensive connections within commercial airport facilities, who is eager to lead a thriving engineering practice.
This role presents an outstanding opportunity for collaboration with a diverse array of stakeholders, including clients, federal, state, and municipal officials, industry associations, technical experts, and project specialists in a vibrant work setting characterized by support and flexibility. The leader will also engage with the Global Aviation team and the transportation leadership in the US East and US West Regions.
Due to the nature of the role, location is flexible and may include remote or virtual work with occasional travel as required.
Core Responsibilities
Practice Growth and Sales
Contribute to practice growth, strategic planning, and the promotion of AECOM's services in the aviation sector, engaging with key strategic customers and partners across the Americas. Collaborate with Regional Aviation Market Sector Leads, the Global Aviation team, and Regional Aviation Division Managers to drive strategic business growth.
Foster strong relationships with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders within the aviation sector, acting as a trusted ambassador for AECOM. Utilize technical expertise to contribute to the development of capture plans that align with our business development strategy and technical capabilities.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Engaging in national collaboration with Aviation Planning, B+P, Construction Management, and across business lines for aviation civil engineering services.
- Formulating and executing national strategies for aviation civil engineering projects that resonate with organizational goals, industry trends, and regulatory standards.
- Building and structuring technical delivery teams equipped with the necessary skills for effective project execution.
- Identifying and recruiting key industry talent based on market strategies.
- Enhancing existing strategies to propel organizational growth within the Americas aviation market.
- Providing leadership with insights on capabilities that support market growth and expand geographic reach.
- Recognizing resource gaps that may hinder growth and addressing them effectively.
