This Backend Engineer position centers on the Ads Pixel team in Palo Alto, CA. The role focuses on building and maintaining the systems that power Whop’s business growth by ensuring accurate, real-time data flows between Whop, business owners, CRMs, and advertising networks.
What you will do
- Manage and expand the event pipeline that sends Whop’s first-party conversion data to integrated ad platforms and CRMs.
- Design and build new data destinations, handling authentication, schema mapping, identity matching, deduplication, retries, and backfilling.
- Improve match rates by advancing identity resolution, hashing, and normalization processes.
- Increase observability to track event delivery, matching, and attribution across conversions and destinations.
- Work closely with the ad networks team to connect ad spend with results.
Requirements
- 5+ years in a software development role.
- Comfortable working in a startup setting where information may be incomplete.
- Strong curiosity and a drive to improve the product.
- Proven ability to ship fast, reliable software with close attention to detail.
- Experience in backend engineering, especially with data pipelines and real-time data processing.
