The Seattle Art Museum is seeking a Betty Bowen Award Administration Intern to support the planning and delivery of the Betty Bowen Award, which recognizes outstanding visual artists living and working in the Pacific Northwest.
This internship offers practical experience in awards administration, public outreach, and collaboration with a philanthropic board. The intern will help coordinate committee meetings, promote the call for artist submissions, organize and track applications, communicate with artists, and manage correspondence with the Betty Bowen Committee. Additional responsibilities include drafting press releases and preparing related mailings.
Supervised by the Curatorial Specialist and the Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, the intern will work closely with the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Betty Bowen Committee, artists, and other museum departments. The role provides opportunities to strengthen project management, community engagement, communication, and writing skills.
