The Patient Engagement Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing patient experiences by managing inbound pharmacy calls and making outbound refill requests. This position involves assisting patients throughout the entire refill process and addressing inquiries related to prescription drug coverage and fulfillment. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating medication refills through data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication.
- Conducting outbound calls to facilitate patient refill requests.
- Tackling inbound inquiries with professionalism and clarity.
- Clarifying prescription orders in coordination with pharmacists or clinicians when necessary.
- Identifying medications that require special storage or handling procedures.
- Maintaining and updating relevant data within database applications.
- Implementing observations and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Identifying trends, resolving issues, and recommending process improvements.
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives actively.
- Serving as a liaison between patients, pharmacies, clinical providers, and internal teams.
- Upholding confidentiality to protect organizational integrity.
- Engaging in continuous education and professional development.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate business needs, with shifts starting as early as 7:45 AM (EST).
- Other duties as assigned.
