Giant Security is seeking a Brand Detection System Administrator based in the Amsterdam area, covering sites across Heerhugowaard and Noord-Holland. This role centers on supporting clients by ensuring fire detection systems are working as intended and that safety standards are met at each location.
Role overview
This position involves daily travel to a variety of client sites, such as schools, healthcare facilities, and office buildings. Most days start from home, with visits to 6 or 7 addresses. At each site, the Brand Detection System Administrator checks in, informs the client of the planned testing, and sets the fire detection system into test mode to avoid false alarms.
Testing includes simulating scenarios on smoke detectors and manual call points, verifying that alerts are triggered and received correctly. All findings and activities are carefully logged. After testing, the system is reset to normal operation, and results are discussed with the client before departing for the next appointment.
What you will do
- Manage and test fire detection systems at client locations
- Record activities and update logbooks accurately
- Communicate results and work progress to clients
- Advise clients on fire safety, both when asked and proactively
Work style
Most tasks are performed independently, though collaboration with colleagues may occur for larger or annual inspections. In addition to technical work, this role involves monitoring the general safety of premises, such as checking emergency exits and escape routes, and offering advice to improve safety measures.
