Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or a demonstrated equivalency of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Strong organizational skills. A motivated interest in bridge inspection as a collaborative team member in Rhode Island. Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (E. I. T.) License. Experience in bridge load rating. Familiarity with AutoCAD, CsiBridge, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, AASHTOware BrM/BrR, and MDX is a plus.

AECOM is actively seeking a skilled Bridge Inspector to join our team in the Providence, Rhode Island office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field inspections in accordance with the RIDOT Bridge Inspection Manual and FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and other bridge inspection access equipment, including climbing as necessary.
  • Work in confined spaces, near live traffic, in water, and under varying weather conditions.
  • Be available for overnight work as required, including tasks within the railroad right-of-way.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Perform bridge analyses and load rating calculations, including 3D FEM modeling as necessary.
  • Assist in developing bridge rehabilitation plans and related documentation.
