Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field, along with four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Proven experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in bridge inspection. Possession of an Engineer-in-Training (E. I. T.) License. A valid U. S. Driver’s License is required to access project sites, clients, and other AECOM locations. The selected candidate must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records review as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications:Professional Engineering (P. E.) License in Rhode Island. Completion of the NHI Course No. 130055 “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges” or the 5-day NHI Course No. 130056 “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers”. NHI Course No. 130053 Bridge Inspection (Refresher course as necessary). NHI Course No. 130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Training.

AECOM  is actively seeking a skilled Bridge Inspector Team Lead to join our vibrant office in Providence, Rhode Island.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive field inspections in compliance with RIDOT Bridge Inspection Manual and FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards.
  • Oversee team members and coordinate with access and equipment vendors.
  • Perform inspections at heights, utilizing ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and other necessary bridge inspection equipment.
  • Execute work in confined spaces, near live traffic, in water, and under challenging weather conditions.
  • Be available for overnight work as required, including assignments within railroad right-of-way.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of team-generated work.
  • Engage in bridge analyses and load rating calculations, including 3D FEM modeling when necessary.
  • Develop bridge rehabilitation plans and relevant documentation as needed.
