As a Building Automation Systems Specialist I at Albireo Energy, you will play a vital role in supporting the operations of our department. This position involves a variety of job-related responsibilities and duties throughout our facilities, adapting as necessary. You will engage in routine technical tasks, including troubleshooting and repairing components within building automation systems, such as field cabinets, sensors, and related controls. Typically, you will work under the guidance of a senior building automation technician, but may occasionally take on tasks at the BMS Systems Specialist II level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair building automation system field cabinets, including communication devices, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
- Take initiative in safely performing point-to-point checkouts of end devices, utilizing multimeters to verify continuity and resistance of sensors, and validating sensor functionality with calibrated meters.
- Download modules and assist in bringing networks online.
- Effectively communicate technical issues to senior technicians.
- Maintain field markups and conduct warranty-related service calls.
- Assist in maintaining regular system backups during projects.
- Support senior technicians in system and equipment startups.
- Document and demonstrate non-complex systems for third-party commissioning support and testing.
- Provide project demonstrations and training for customers as needed.
- Report to work punctually and prepared to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain company tools, test equipment, and materials.
- Create detailed daily reports for projects or daily duties, submitting them to the Albireo project team and Operations Supervisor.
- Proactively seek opportunities to expedite project completion.
- Collaborate with job site personnel from other trades to meet project objectives.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using the company’s building automation suite and offerings.
- Identify issues and implement minor program and graphic changes.
- Foster a culture of open dialogue and involvement among team members, emphasizing the value of their contributions.
- Support a high-performance culture that prioritizes employee and site safety, as well as overall business performance.
