Etched is looking for a Business Automation Engineer in San Jose to help scale internal operations as the company expands its AI hardware business. This position centers on creating and implementing automation solutions that connect business intelligence, improve workflows across departments, and support data-driven decisions in areas like Go-To-Market, talent acquisition, legal, and production operations.
This is a hands-on engineering role. It calls for a full-stack approach and a strong sense for business priorities. The Business Automation Engineer will work directly with stakeholders to identify pain points, design automation systems, and ensure those systems are adopted. The work has a direct and immediate impact on the company’s growth and efficiency.
What you will do
- Develop automation systems: Design, build, and deploy internal applications and integrations across front-end, back-end, and data pipelines to eliminate manual work.
- Unify business intelligence: Combine metrics from GTM, production, talent, and legal into dashboards tailored for each role.
- Streamline workflows: Build alerting and reporting tools for recruitment, offer reviews, GTM metrics, contract management, and production forecasting.
- Integrate systems: Connect tools and data sources (such as Slack, CRM, HRIS, and manufacturing software) using APIs and middleware for real-time data flow.
- Deliver under pressure: Prioritize effectively and ship stable, maintainable systems quickly.
