ABOUT THE POSITION
As the Chief Engineer at Anduril, you will provide senior technical leadership and strategic oversight across major defense projects. You will shape the technical vision and engineering standards vital for significant system developments, making pivotal decisions that influence product design, project execution, program success, and the company's strategic direction. You will also play an essential role in customer engagement, collaborating closely with the Program Manager as a co-lead. In this role, you will be accountable for the technical delivery and safety of your products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team (including Software, Hardware, Robotics, and Test & Evaluation) to develop and implement integrated systems for diverse missions.
- Define the technical vision and system architecture to steer comprehensive development initiatives.
- Establish and uphold best practices in system development, encompassing software standards, code reviews, configuration management, and testing methodologies.
- Diagnose issues, perform root cause analyses for system failures, and coordinate remediation steps with engineering teams.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional growth in alignment with their experience levels.
- Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) during local engagements with customers.
- Be prepared to travel up to 25% of the time to facilitate the build, testing, and deployment of capabilities at Anduril's test ranges and customer-directed locations.
