Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in child development and possess the ability to connect with children on a personal level. Experience in a related field is preferred but not mandatory; however, a desire to learn and grow is essential.

About the job

Our Mission:

Make a real impact. Build real skills. Grow with us.

At Positive Development, we are dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and flourish. We also believe in providing meaningful work for aspiring professionals that fosters the development of essential future skills.

We engage in one-on-one interactions with autistic children, focusing on enhancing their communication, social, and daily living skills through play-based and relationship-oriented approaches.

What Sets This Role Apart:

This is not a passive role where you merely observe and assist. You will actively coach, connect, and guide children in their development while gaining invaluable experience relevant to careers in:

  • Psychology

  • Social Work

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Speech Language Pathology

  • Education and Special Education

  • Counseling

  • Medicine and Health

This role is profoundly fulfilling but requires patience, emotional maturity, and a strong commitment. Experienced clinicians and supervisors will support you throughout your journey and are genuinely invested in your professional growth.

We are particularly eager to connect with candidates who are:

  • Passionate about working with children and teens

  • Inquisitive about human development and learning

  • Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic

  • Reliable and committed to maintaining a consistent schedule (children thrive on consistency!)

  • Comfortable engaging with families in a home-based environment

Ideal candidates may include education majors, psychology students, pre-med and nursing students, aspiring occupational or speech language therapists, behavior technicians, camp counselors, teacher’s assistants, childcare providers, direct support professionals, and caregivers.
