We are currently looking for a Cloud Engineer to strengthen our engineering team in support of a mission-critical client located in Reston, VA. This is a full-time position that requires on-site presence during core hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM), with flexibility for completing a standard 8-hour workday outside those hours.
  
As a member of our engineering team, you will leverage your technical skills to design, automate, integrate, configure, test, and implement cloud-based infrastructure and services across development, testing, and production environments. Additionally, you will engage in quarterly Agile Development Planning and participate in client meetings as required.
  
Our operations are fully situated within the AWS cloud ecosystem, utilizing services such as deployment updates for Elastic, RHEL, and WSUS environments, alongside cross-domain integration and automation. We enhance and support various core application and data services utilized by multiple government agencies.
  
Key Responsibilities for the Cloud Engineer include:
- Designing and implementing scalable, secure, and automated AWS-based cloud infrastructure.
- Developing and managing infrastructure-as-code solutions to facilitate cloud deployments.
- Analyzing existing cloud infrastructure to pinpoint opportunities for optimization, automation, and resilience enhancement.
- Implementing security best practices, including patch management, access control, and vulnerability remediation.
- Creating and constructing lab and demonstration environments for testing, prototyping, and validating solutions.
- Researching and assessing emerging cloud technologies, particularly in cloud security and tooling.
- Collaborating with cybersecurity, DevOps, and application development teams to integrate infrastructure with enterprise solutions.
- Supporting system documentation and reporting to ensure alignment with mission and compliance requirements.
