What does this role entail?
The Cloud Network Engineer is pivotal in managing inContact's public and private cloud network architecture and security. This position involves assessing both current and emerging technologies while collaborating with DevOps and various business units to implement best practices effectively. You will engage with AWS, Azure, GCP, and inContact's private cloud environments. A strong background in cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure, and cloud-specific networking, is essential. Key responsibilities include VPC/VNET design, peering, VPN Gateways, Cloud VPN, NAT Gateways, VGW, Cloud Load Balancers, Security Groups, Traffic Manager, Direct Peering, Direct Connect/Cloud Interconnect/ExpressRoute, and managing other cloud-related endpoints.
Your Impact:
- Utilize your expert knowledge in all aspects of Networking, including advanced routing with BGP and OSPF, Firewalls and VPNs, Load Balancers, Ethernet switching, VoIP, and MPLS technologies. You will create detailed design specifications and ensure implementations adhere to these standards.
- Provide training to team members and mentor junior engineers.
- Serve as the final escalation point for cloud-related issues.
- Act as an internal consultant across multiple business units, representing the Network team.
- Conduct research and evaluation of Cloud technologies to meet both current and future needs.
- Establish repeatable design strategies and automation.
- Perform CloudFormation updates using JSON/YAML and Resource Manager.
