Role overview
The Communications/DSP Associate Engineer position is a twelve-week, salaried role designed for recent graduates of four-year universities. Associates work on meaningful projects, often designing and testing both hardware and software for satellites. Many associates have gone on to accept full-time positions at Astranis. Candidates who have not yet graduated from a four-year university are encouraged to consider the Internship program instead.
What you will do
- Design signal processing algorithms for custom software-defined radio hardware, including tasks such as channelization, equalization, PA linearization, gain control, carrier synchronization, symbol mapping, framing, and channel coding/FEC.
- Work closely with FPGA developers to implement and validate signal processing on radio hardware.
- Model the full radio system, covering communication from Earth to space and back.
- Perform radio architecture trade studies, complete link budgets, and optimize radio systems for performance across different global markets and applications.
