Role overview: Bilingual Recovery Peer Specialist - CORE Guide Internally, this position is called a firsthand Guide (fG) or Core Guide. The role combines the established responsibilities of a Peer Recovery Specialist with firsthand’s peer-led approach. Core Guides are central to outreach and engagement, helping individuals with SMI achieve and maintain both behavioral and physical wellness. Many of the people served have disengaged from care or have never accessed services that could improve their quality of life. Core Guides are uniquely positioned to connect with them and build trust.
