About the Role

As a Component and Product Quality Engineer focusing on interconnects, you will oversee the quality of high-speed interconnect hardware through every phase of the product lifecycle. This includes early design input, supplier readiness, qualification, ramp-up, and ongoing fleet quality in lab and data center settings.

In this crucial role, you will lead the quality initiatives for advanced interconnect components and assemblies, such as high-speed copper cables, cable cartridges, patch panels, backplane solutions, high-speed connectors, and related electro-mechanical interfaces. Collaboration with electrical, mechanical, system integration, reliability, and operations teams, as well as external vendors, will be key to preventing quality escapes and implementing data-driven corrective actions swiftly.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing quality for advanced interconnect components and assemblies, including high-speed connectors, copper cables, cable cartridges, patch panels, and backplane solutions.
  • Advancing quality-by-design practices by participating in design reviews, DFM/DFx, and tolerance analysis to minimize variation and field failures.
  • Defining and monitoring quality and reliability metrics for interconnects throughout NPI and mass production.
  • Creating and executing qualification strategies for cables, connectors, and patch panels, ensuring rigorous testing and clear criteria for success.
  • Collaborating with engineering and operations to ensure a smooth ramp-up, conducting risk assessments, and applying lessons learned from pilot builds.
