Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in composites manufacturing, specifically in resin infusion at a high-rate boat building facility. Demonstrated strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to a quality-first mindset. Experience with vacuum bagging, mold preparation, and curing processes. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, iterative environment. Familiarity with vinyl ester and polyester resins, carbon fiber, and dry fiberglass. Proficient in using trimming tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.

Position Overview:

As a Composites Technician specializing in Small Parts Infusion, your primary responsibility will be to infuse high-performance composite components utilized in the structure and systems of our autonomous vessels. You will concentrate on small to medium-sized parts, employing techniques such as vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM), liquid resin transfer molding (LRTM), and managing vacuum manifolds, while performing essential tasks such as bagging parts, conducting drop tests, maintaining vacuum catch pots, and mixing resin with MEKP in precise ratios. This hands-on role is essential to our manufacturing process, significantly influencing product reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and uphold industry-leading quality standards.
  • Prepare molds and tools effectively for composite layup and infusion.
  • Conduct precise hand layups using dry fiber materials.
  • Set up and execute vacuum-assisted resin infusion processes.
  • Mix and handle resins, hardeners, and other composite materials following safety protocols.
  • Trim, demold, and finish small composite components to specified tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workspace.
  • Interpret technical drawings, layup schedules, and process documentation with the aid of a tablet.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams to refine part design and manufacturability.
  • Document work performed and identify opportunities for process improvements or quality enhancements.
