You will guide the technical direction and deliver measurable impacts on production systems serving real clients. What You’ll Do Conduct an audit of the camera and imaging subsystems across MHEV and Modal: assess current performance metrics (barcode decode rates, read distances, motion blur effects), and identify primary bottlenecks. Research, evaluate, and select camera and sensor hardware, specifying resolution, sensor size, lens options, and exposure controls suitable for industrial warehouse environments. Implement and fine-tune auto-exposure, gain control, and lighting strategies to adapt to variable warehouse lighting conditions, including mitigating motion blur for dynamic platforms. Develop image quality metrics and monitoring systems to sustain performance as deployments expand. Collaborate with the ML team to ensure that perception model inputs align with training and inference quality standards.
