Join Axle Informatics as a Computer Science/Bioinformatics Intern for the Spring 2016 session in Rockville, MD! We are on the lookout for a dedicated and quick-learning student ready to thrive in a dynamic IT environment.
What You Will Do:
- Gain hands-on experience in creating both front-end and back-end bioinformatics software.
- Assist in the development of software using various programming languages, including Java, R, JavaScript, Perl, Python, and Ruby.
- Design and implement new features and enhancements for existing systems.
- Participate in testing activities and address bugs in current codebases.
- Develop comprehensive guides detailing program limitations to support future analyses of investigator datasets.
- Contribute to the development of efficient pipelines for managing and visualizing scientific data.
- Acquire valuable on-site experience at several National Institutes of Health (NIH) locations.
Who You Are:
- Passionate about computer science or bioinformatics with a demonstrated understanding of the field.
- Familiar with technologies such as HTML, CSS, Java, R, JavaScript, Perl, Python, and Ruby.
- Eager to learn and apply newfound knowledge to streamline your work processes.
