Educational BackgroundCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor's (BS) or Master's (MS) degree program in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field. Expected graduation date of December 2026 or later. ExperiencePrevious internships or research experience involving economic analysis is preferred. Exposure to the energy sector through studies or research is highly regarded. SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills are essential. Able to work collaboratively within a team environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are required. Additional SkillsSolid quantitative skills. Familiarity with programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, and Java is a plus.

Your Responsibilities

Intern assignments may include:

  • Developing software tools to support the dependable operation of the Grid and energy markets, providing insights into smart grid technologies and renewable resources.
  • Conducting data validation and user acceptance testing (UAT), scheduling, and monitoring processes integral to energy market settlement statements and invoices.
  • Creating enterprise-wide systems integration mappings, collaborating with IT Architects, UML Modelers, and QA Leads.
  • Contributing technical content and sample code for the ISO’s developer.caiso.com website.
  • Documenting archiving solutions for emerging technologies and developing automation solutions.
  • Maintaining Oracle Database/Storage task queues, creating automation scripts, and generating capacity reports.
  • Executing projects aimed at streamlining processes, enhancing transparency, and boosting departmental capabilities across the organization.
