Job Summary:

As a Construction Associate, you will embark on a journey to master essential construction skills and techniques under the mentorship of experienced Construction Managers. This role is ideal for individuals eager to develop their construction supervision abilities by supporting the management of on-site activities in assigned subdivisions. You will play a crucial role in monitoring project phases, conducting inspections, and ensuring timely coordination of construction activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage in hands-on training on M/I Homes’ construction processes through various construction phases.
  • Participate in essential meetings with builders and homeowners, including the Buyer Builder Conference and New Home Orientation.
  • Assist in inspecting homes at different construction stages to oversee workflow, quality, and timely completion.
  • Review blueprints for accuracy and compliance.
  • Help schedule subcontractors and monitor their work, ensuring the effective delivery and use of materials and equipment.
  • Act as a liaison between subcontractors and construction management, addressing quality and progress concerns.
  • Perform minor repairs and inspections prior to pre-settlement, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with homeowners to address questions and resolve any service issues.
  • Learn other critical processes that intersect with construction phases including Warranty, Customer Care, and Sales & Design Center.
