- Oversee construction activities on behalf of clients, ensuring contractor compliance with regulatory and contractual safety standards.
- Ensure all construction projects meet current OSHA regulations and guidelines.
- Conduct daily safety assessments of ongoing work, adhering to the latest Safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as established by BuildLACCD.
- Verify compliance with Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements and procedures.
- Assist the Program Safety Manager by attending necessary meetings and providing safety reports and analyses as needed.
- Lead safety discussions at construction meetings with the project team and general contractor, presenting site observations and assessing upcoming construction schedules for hazard readiness.
- Carry out regular safety inspections at construction sites and compile daily safety reports for all visits.
- Submit weekly Project Health Safety and Environmental Observation Reports to the College Project Manager.
- Review contractor safety submissions, including JHA, MOP, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation and Scaffold Erecting Plans, Confined Space Entry, and hazard assessments for high-risk operations.
- Analyze contractor incident reports, engage in safety stand-downs, and provide lessons learned to the Program Safety Manager.
- Facilitate safety orientations with contractor safety representatives.
- Enforce compliance with zero-tolerance and corrective action policies for workers failing to adhere to the Program’s safety guidelines.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and transportation to work across various sites in the greater Los Angeles area.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize daily tasks, and maintain oversight of multiple active construction projects.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
